Round House Gear

Gear and Software

Microphones:  It all starts here with the above wide selection of mics that suit a diverse set of artist needs.  There is a mic designed to capture different voices, instruments and the desired sound image.

Pre-amplifiers:   At the first stage the input Patchbay 1 provides any feed from any position in the studio to any of the pre-amplifiers.  The Avilon, Great River and  Octopre pre-amplifiers have been selected to provide different "coloring" to attain the desired analog sound in the recording mix.

Analog to Digital: At the second stage Patchbay 2 can select any Pre-Amp output as the input to any Analog to Digital conversion channel.  The Rosetta 800 and Digidesign 002 form the backbone of the 18 channel system.

Monitor: At the third stage Patchbay 3 is ready to feed any channel out to any position in the studio.  Most importantly the Outbord Gear is selected here to provide hardware sound effects in the mix.  Most prominately used at Roundhouse are the Manley Audio Labs ELOP and the Universal Audio 2-1176 for hardware compression and limiting.

Artist Space: The recording rooms have a complete independent monitoring system from the above gear.  The artist can control his own headphone mix. No more reason to wave your hands at the Recording Engineer and point at your ears! !  The artist can selct "more me" or "more you" or "more us".  Or ask the Recording Engineer.  He can still control headphone mix also.

The point is that the Artist Space rules, with the headphone mix the way one wants it and how one wants it.

Software: The ProTools LE system is fully loaded with the Native Instuments Diamond effcts, Komplete 6 virtual insruments and Kore 2 extensive sound library.   Bias PeakPro 6 is used for mastering.
